Have you heard about iMEDIA yet? If not, let me fill you in. Here are the top five reasons why you should attend iMEDIA 2014.

1. It’s a local event uber-focused on social media education.
iMEDIA is a relatively small, local conference that brings together small business owners and corporate marketing managers for a day of social media education.

2. The keynote speakers and session facilitators are awesome.
This year stands to be one of the best conferences yet with Greg Hounslow, Emerging Media Advisor for WestJet, and Kendall Barber, co-founder of Poppy Barley, giving the keynote address. There is also an impressive list of breakout sessions that will be facilitated by leaders of advertising, marketing and communications companies in Edmonton.

3. There are sessions for every level of social media expertise.
No matter your level of social media experience, iMEDIA 2014 has sessions that will give you the tools and information you need to take your business’s social media plan to the next level. My colleague, Elaine Manning, who has much more experience with social media than me, is looking forward to attending the more advanced sessions while I, a newbie to social media marketing, will be attending some of the more introductory sessions.

Some session topics being offered include:

Social from Scratch: A Beginner’s Recipe for Social Media Success
Managing the Monster: Social Media Community Management
Quality Over Quantity – The PR Approach to Social Media
Google Analytics Beginners Bootcamp
Data-Drive Social Media

4. There will be a party full of interesting people and there will be a bar.
