Bluetrain’s Online Marketing Team Expands in Edmonton

The Spring of 2013 has been busy at Bluetrain and we’ve recently grown our team to 13 amazing individuals with the addition of both an SEO Strategist and Account Manager in our Sherwood Park, Alberta office (just outside of Edmonton).

Whiz-Bang SEO Strategist – Shauna Carther

Our new SEO Strategist, Shauna Carther, comes to us from one of Edmonton’s local Internet success stories, Investopedia.com, which sold to Forbes Media in 2007 and subsequently sold to ValueClick in 2010. Shauna was employee number three at Investopedia, starting there in 2002, and was an essential member of the team that grew the investor education website into the leader in its niche.

For the last 6 years, Shauna drove the overall content strategy for Investopedia, recently as Vice President Content, managing a team of editors to produce high quality content for millions of users per month. Shauna also managed Investopedia’s social media and online syndication strategies, driving millions of additional pageviews each month. It would be an understatement to say we’re extremely excited to add Shauna’s unique experience and skillset to the Bluetrain team. Shauna is also a proud alumni of the University of Alberta School of Business.

When you meet Shauna, make sure to ask her why George Takei is one of her Facebook Likes, and she’s always in the mood to boast about her two boys.

Rock Star Account Manager – Alyana Angus

After an extensive search, we’re ecstatic to welcome Alyana Angus (aka ‘Aly’) onto the Bluetrain team as our newest Account Manager. Aly recently made the move from BC to Alberta so we’re excited to introduce her to what makes the Edmonton area a great place to work and live. She was already impressed with the show by Mother Nature last week with a traditional Alberta downpour and bit of hail for good measure!

Aly is a 2010 graduate from Simon Fraser University and has had experience in event management, social media, website management, sales, and account management since graduating. However, although her experience is very relevant, Aly was really hired because she has a true passion for online marketing, has an eye for detail our field requires, and the personality our clients will love. Aly loves building relationships and has a true desire to help make life better for the people around her. The one thing you’ll learn about Aly is she has a sincere desire to learn new things and continually challenge herself to grow as an individual.

When you meet Aly, make sure to ask her about her incredible traveling experience, such as backpacking through Israel on her own!
